Hi it is hard to evaluate without having the watch in our hands. If you could send us a picture then it would help. However some things do not match. 16233 should be a two tone datejust and not a day-date . You could send us a picture to sales@messinajewelers.com .

I am not familiar with rolex watches. I have one that says Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date at the top of the dial , superlative chronometer officially certified , and swiss made at the very bottom. Underneath the snap part of the band it says Rolex, Geneve,750,Swiss made, 18K.Alaso these numbers 16233(not hollogram) and on the strap 18956.I don’t see a model number where you say there should be one, Does that mean this is a replica? I have not been able to find any pictures that look exactly like it. It is similar to a picture of a replica of a Datejust skeleton automatic but not exactly the same.

I have a ladies 18k gold ladies oyster perpetual date with diamonds on the face. On the band I can find the number 8570 with no F. Can you tell me anything about this.

Hi I am thinking of buying this old Ladies Oyster Perpetual Rolex tiffany & co. Gold and stainless from Ebay she got this stuff from a local estate, anyway in the photo there is a number 491 do they have only 3 numbers?

Oyster Perpetual never used batteries. Only Oysterquartz . letter Y is 2002-2003 however the digits do not match you have an extra digit on serial number .

Hi we would need to have the watch in our hands to give a complete appraisal. The face must be custom but it is normal to have a refinished face wtih a vintage watch. There is an article in our blog that discusses how to date a watch .

My father in law has a watch. It says that it is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified.
When I removed the band it read “Registered Design 1601″
It has a red face with diamonds or crystals around the rim of the face. It is a beautiful watch with smooth edges and the water beads up on it. I checked for markings and it has the markings on the clasp and between the bolts under the bracelet. Could you tell me, how to make sure it is a real? And if you might know how to tell when it was made?

i am like 95% sure they never did but i would like to know for sure.

AND DOES THE NUMBER ‘Y481 168899′ sound genuine?
